We have made it through our first Washington winter and, needless to say, we are happy for the spring. There are buds everywhere and nature blessed us with a little surprise next to our front door:

We have been busy little bees putting the finishing touches on our home and have managed, at last, to finally get down to the business of exploring this new town of ours. This being DC, naturally our adventures have brought us first to a number of museums, namely the
National Museum of Natural History and the
National Museum of American History. As you might imagine, Brando went totally nuts in the dinosaur exhibit, while I enjoyed the exhibition of Cypriot artifacts:

Back in January, my good friend Emily came out for a conference and we had a blast checking out the Washington Monument on the National Mall. We took the elevator all the way to the top and took in the view:

We also checked out the National Archives to see a few documents you might have heard of: the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence.
A bit close to home in Fairfax, we've been taking in some nature walks down a trail close to our home and checking out the local avian life:

Just last week Brando joined me for lunch at my office and we took a stroll over to the Lincoln Memorial:
We have been taking so many pictures, too many in fact to include them all here. So, if you are curious (or bored), check out our album on Picasa that we will be updating when we have interesting things to show:
